Dear Supporter,
As we enter the first half of 2023, we wanted to share some of the progress we've made during the past few months. We hope you enjoy reading updates about our houses, students, and staff.
During International Women's Week, we raised $26,000, an important milestone for EFA. With this support, we can sponsor one of our boarding houses for nearly a year, which means that we can provide resources for girls in the Atlas Mountains, allowing them to thrive and succeed in their studies.
As we await the results of this year's exams results, we are aware that EFA students dream of a brighter future that can only be obtained through quality education and determination. We look forward to seeing many more enrol in University in 2023.
Last week our Alumni Association came together to share how life is at University, and in work. More than 50 young women were present and enjoyed listening to a life-coach, mentor and a successful Moroccan woman in business.
We believe that education is the key to equity and without it, many opportunities and rights cannot be realised. Our alumna, Kawtar, is a concrete example of this. She is currently a student at UM6P and will be completing an internship in the UK at Hays Travel along with two other former students. Needless to say, we are incredibly proud of them.
Nurturing the wellbeing of the EFA girls is also key to our ethos, and we have enjoyed seeing part two of our Yoga Teacher Training programme with partner organisation SoulJourn Yoga taking place last week!
We also received a visit from the Rotary Club Marbella and Marrakech who offered us more sponsorship for EFA students as well as a medical grant from the Plaza Clinic who will offer free emergency health care for EFA students and our former students at University in Marrakech.
We were happy to welcome over 30 students from Southbank International School in the UK who selected EFA as a partner organisation for their Community Action Service trip . They fundraised the sponsorship for four students as well as helping to build shelves and a shaded area for two of our boarding houses.
We will never stop working towards our mission to ensure that girls have access to education and are encouraged to work hard to reach their goals. All of this could not be done without our valued supporters around the world. Thank you for helping us change the world through education, one girl at a time!
