It's not just an accessible Ride; It's a new life

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s believers & supporters,

It’s our pleasure to announce that we had an agreement with one of the biggest Ride sharing companies in Egypt (Careem) to secure accessible transportation for wheelchair users in Egypt – This service is called Careem Assist.

We launched the campaign last month to start in Cairo (the Capital) as well as Alexandria and gradually get it applied across Egypt’s governorates. This initiative is mainly aiming to provide accessible rides for wheelchair users to be able to move independently without the need of companion or the humiliation of seeking inhumane (not user-friendly) public transportation.

Check the campaign’s link below:

The wheelchair user can request a ride through the App (just like Uber & Lyft) then choose the option for accessible ride to get the service. Another deal that we had with them as well is hiring wheelchair users as Captain (drivers) with their accessible car. So when the person seeking a ride make a request and see the disability (wheelchair) sign attached with the driver’s account that means the driver is a wheelchair user J

This new initiative is not just opening doors for wheelchair users to go out and interact with their community not just stay at home and surrender to their physical challenges. This also made their life easier as they can now use it to go to their workplaces or even work as a driver with Careem. We already had few of our members (got hired with Careem as captains)

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and be a loyal donor through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation which will help securing more accessible transportation for wheelchair users in Egypt. Please visit our Facebook page to read other success stories:
