Summary

Solidarity of Nations - Achvat Amim is a unique five-month movement-building project that directly engages with the reality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through grassroots human rights work and critical education, based on the core value of self-determination for all peoples. Rooted in Jewish values and a desire for a more just world, Achvat Amim offers young activists a way to find their place in the movement for peace, justice and human rights alongside Israelis and Palestinians.

Challenge

We are working in a context of increased separation of Israeli and Palestinian societies, the entrenchment of occupation, and growing inequality. At the same time, there is a growing movement among diaspora Jews to reject support for these policies and a demand for critical educational frameworks that allow real engagement and action. This movement must be rooted in and connected to the realities and strategies of activists on the ground, and communities resisting occupation on a daily basis.

Solution

We are strengthening the movement for equality, justice, and self-determination for all peoples, starting with an empowered and educated Jewish community, which acts in partnership and solidarity with Palestinians and Israelis. Our strategy is to: 1. transform our own Jewish communities 2. bring more young people into the movement 3. develop leaders who can connect between activists on the ground and international movements.

Long-Term Impact

We see our impact in the growing movement, and increasing connections between grassroots work here and abroad. To take this work to the next level, we will: 1. Strategically build cohorts of activists with different backgrounds and skills, and ensure Achvat is accessible for them 2. Invest in the core Achvat team so that they can grow as educators and organizers at the intersection of community transformation and movement building work 3. Move Achvat into a house that will be a movement hub
