Provide Training in Designing Themed Itineraries

Thank you. Five donors have contributed $201 so far to the Travel Designer Program, and your trust means a great deal to us. This report shares where the project stands and what your support will make possible.

Why this project matters

Tourism is one of Madagascar's most promising sources of work, but many people are locked out of it. They lack formal education, job skills or experience. The Travel Designer Program trains adult beginners to create fully tailor-made, personalized itineraries. It teaches to act as destination curators rather than simple ticket sellers, so that people who have been left behind by the job market can build marketable skills and a decent livelihood.

Progress to date

• Funding: $201 raised from 5 donors toward the $21,590 annual goal (about 1% funded).
• Curriculum: The program design is complete. It combines hard and soft skills through practical, hands-on methods.
• Core competencies: client trust, destination knowledge, logistics coordination and crafting transformational travel experiences.

What we are learning

Beginners often look for the single "correct" itinerary, but travel design has many valid solutions. Moving to professional reservation tools can also cause real anxiety. That is why we focus on scenario-based role-play and step-by-step digital practice. These build creative agility, confidence and calm under pressure.

Challenges

The main challenge is funding. At 1% of the goal, we cannot yet launch the full program or buy the instructional equipment, such as laptops and projectors, access to continuous internet connectivity.

Next steps

Continue raising funds so that trainers, materials and equipment fees are covered.
