A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the Adopt a Camera Trap project in Kruger, South Africa!
10 new camera traps and accessories have been purchased by the team and they have been distributed around the reserves. In the recent months we have doubled the amount of camera trap pictures! Capturing nocturnal and elusive species allow us to study secretive species’ habitats and behaviours.
Our camera traps have recently captured six new photos of leopards! We were able to identify MBL11 in Buffaloland, and a new unknown female on our own property.
We were also very excited to see pictures captured of brown hyenas. Brown hyenas are very rare in this area and are extremely hard to see in person, so getting these camera trap photos is very valuable for our research.
This project allows us to contribute towards conservation of a wider range of species that are often neglected in conservation efforts, while introducing you to these animals and what we do, raising awareness about some of the most unique species in South Africa.
We are looking forward to seeing the huge impact that this project has on the wildlife in South Africa! Thank you again for making this possible.
