35 godparents-to-be are being trained!!

Dear donors,

We would like to share with you the news about the Sponsorship for Children in Brazil project.Thus, below we present the most recent events:

Among 100 people who participated on the lectures about affective sponsorship, 35 of them decided to accept the challenge, and are now being trained! In order to improve their skills and be able to make an informed decision (wether or not to become godparents), these adults are participating on a series of 8 meetings with our team. In these meetings, the applicants are:

- getting to know the foster care system and the families served by it;

- understanding the sheltered childrens needs and how to match these;

- understanding the role of an affective godparent;

- reflecting about their own moment and possibility (or not) to take over this role.

Meanwhile, the children and adolescents who will participate on the program are also being prepared, better understanding what it is that they can expect of an affective godparent, and wether or not they want to participate.

Everyone is very excited about starting the playing days between the potential godparents and godsons!!
