AIL is in the middle of a 5 year program providing teacher training for the government. So far this year, 148 people have had teacher methodology training in seminars in Herat and 429 in Kabul, this includes 287 women. Another 19 teachers have attended workshops and 188 mini workshops. Seminars are 10 days long, workshops a few days and minis are a few hours long.
Here is a story: “I am Morsal, a teacher at a high school in Panjshir Province. I enjoyed the Methodology Seminar which was held by AIL at the Teacher Training Institute. I learned a lot about new teaching methods and how to understand students so I can help them. I learned about setting teaching objectives, making lesson plans, kinds of teaching methods and materials. I hope by using from this information in my classroom to be able to bring about great changes in my students’ lives. “
Thank you for your interest in improving teaching standards in Afghanistan.
