The pandemic situation closed AIL’s teacher training program for a number of months in 2020. Despite problems the program was able to train 645 teachers (353 female) in the year. Some teachers attended teaching methodology workshops, others literacy seminars or mini workshops on citizenship, coronavirus, health and the Afghan teaching curriculum.
“I learned a lot about student psychology and now my attitude towards my students in changed. I attempt to be kinder and milder with them and care for them as their parents do. I know how to employ different methods of evaluation and in a way that does not frighten students but instead helps them perform at their best.” Methodology workshop participant.
