It has been a busy first quarter for the Teacher Training Staff of the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL). Already this year, three separate Technique Seminars have been held, with 95 teachers attending. Additionally, 22 mini-workshops have been held with teachers at the AIL Learning Centers. These mini-workshops covered subjects such as “new teaching methods”, “administrative tasks”, “the value of lesson plans” and “solving student’s problems”.
Fifteen teachers attended a two-day seminar that referenced peace and leadership. Another 18 teachers were involved in two separate five-day trainings regarding reproductive health.
The remainder of the year is full of trainings in Technique and many other subjects. We expect to reach a very large number of teachers in 2012.
