The diversity of AIL teacher training

By Elizabeth A Appleyard | Program Administrator

All AIL trained teachers continue to receive follow-up training during their careers. AIL keeps up to date with the latest teaching methodologies and designs trainings to help teachers remain current in modern methods.

AIL sees education as a global responsibility and includes the education of parents as part of what teachers learn to do.  Recently, trained AIL kindergarten teachers provided a mini workshop for 21 mothers of kindergarten students. The topics included: the importance of parental behavior with children, the effect of society on children, improving children’s cognitive function, basic needs of children, how to encourage and how to react to mistakes, absent minded children, child speech and children’s sensibility.

AIL ’s preschool program has 7 professional and skillful teachers who follow both governmental and AIL’s educational program. The  program has 17 different subjects and activities which are basic learning alphabets, basic religious subjects, Dari, English, Primary math, health, demonstration of colors, stories, drawing and coloring, cutting and gluing, sport, TV shows, singing songs, cards, playing with toys  outdoor play and connecting children with nature. These are taught according to a specific schedule and using different lesson materials.

AIL is continuing it is online Meraj Academy which broadcasts on TV Meraj. This program gives access to a comprehensive 7-12th grade education via TV programs and is aimed at those students, especially girls who are unable to attend school. Teachers are trained specifically to provide lessons through this medium and how to load content to youtube and interact with students via social media.

Your support for AIL’s teacher training programs makes all the difference! Thank you.
