AIL’s mobile literacy classes are very popular. One Learning Center reported they have a waiting list of 100 women hoping for a chance to accelerate their literacy learning. There have been 15 classes so far this year for 519 female students.  9 classes have full results and 6 are currently in session until December 31 with 35 students in each class.  Most students end the 4 month course reading at the 4th grade level and others at 3rd grade level.

"My name is Saeedah and I am 25 years old. I was an illiterate person until I started this  class. After studying two months I can now learn and am reading and writing. So I am so happy about this situation. We learned how to use the mobile phone including how to send messages, and all the phone settings and functions. In addition, we also learned about peace and social issues.”

Thank you for your interest in our project.

AIL is working towards SDG 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
