Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your continuing support of AIL’s efforts to offer computer courses to Afghans. These classes are offering the students a chance to gain skills and knowledge that will make them very attractive to employers. AIL classes have a reputation for being very high quality, and the students who attend the classes are often able to find good jobs as a result.
We have been updating you about our new English and Computer program, which AIL is offering in four centers, two in Kabul Province and two in Herat Province. To date over 2,000 students have been educated through this program, and we expect that number to be close to 3,000 by the end of 2013. There are currently 543 students studying computer in AIL’s learning centers, which includes computer classes which are being offered in a girls orphanage.
The students that AIL works with are beginning to realize that they need to be able to work with computers in order to get higher paying positions, and to advance in their current positions. AIL has been asked by students of one of their Learning Centers to begin teaching new computer classes in this center, and AIL is working now to find a way to make that happen.
Thank you again for your continued support and understanding of the importance of this project! Your support is helping to change lives!
