AfricAid's Computer Labs for Girls project will help provide computers for schools participating in AfricAid's Kisa Project, a scholarship and leadership training program for young Tanzanian women.
Key to this program will be the outfitting of computer labs at the schools where the Kisa scholars are taught so that they can communicate with their sponsors and receive the technological training that is so crucial to the development of 21st century leadership skills.
The Kisa Project will connect American sponsors and Kisa scholars, Tanzanian girls in the final two years of secondary school. They will share their lives through a special curriculum and the use of digital storytelling on an interactive website.
Through the installation of computer labs at each partner school, hundreds of students will have the opportunity to learn vital computing skills and more effectively compete in a scarce job market.
