Dear AfricAid Supporters,
Thank you very much for your support of computer labs for students in Tanzania through Global Giving (http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/africaidcomputers/). The opportunity to learn basic computer and Internet skills can be a life-changing one for students in Africa -- an opportunity that opens doors to a whole new world of information and possibilities, and which positions students to have a fighting chance for employment in these difficult economic times.
This past Fall, AfricAid installed a low-cost computer lab at Upendo English Medium Primary School, which uses NComputing (www.ncomputing) technology to reduce costs, maintenance and energy usage in the lab. The students at the school logged on to the computers for the first time in October, learning how to type and create documents. (See attached photo.) They are fully enjoying the lab and are grateful for the opportunity to develop vital computer skills.
From everyone at AfricAid and Upendo English Medium Primary School in Usa River, Tanzania, we extend a heartfelt "ASANTE" (thank you!) for all that you are doing to create educational opportunities for Tanzanian students!
With much appreciation,
Ashley Shuyler
Executive Director, AfricAid
