Since we began our Days for Girls Enterprise in 2021 we have worked hard to explore markets for our washable pads, which are high quality, locally made and really work. Despite our optimistic expectations, uptake from retailers has been slower than expected. Never ones to be daunted, we decided to branch out into other sewn items with fabric supplied by one of the last fabric manufacturers in South Africa, DaGama Fabrics, producers of the world renowned Three Cats Shweshwe fabric.
We have been making and selling our range of tablecloths, runners, tea towels, and napkins in two outlets in our small city - diversifying and keeping our ladies busy.
We await the day when we will have our washable pads and our tablewear range in outlets across South Africa, but for now it is one step at a time.
Please consider donating to support a donation of a washable sanitary pad kit to a girl in need. All the details are in our needs list.
Thank you,
