IThousands of young Africans are dying each year in illegal migration to Europe and America. Unemployment and lack of prospects cause the despair of young people in Africa and their decision to migrate. The consequences of migration are the massive loss of human life in the oceans, inhuman and degrading treatment in transit countries and reception problem in destination countries. Illegal migration is a major challenge to human dignity, security, human rights and youth development in Africa
The project consists in identifying 100 young people in a situation of unemployment or underemployment, training them and supporting them to create a business, have jobs and income. The success stories of young entrepreneurs will be used to develop an awareness campaign against illegal migration in Europe and America. It will be implemented in Togo and its success will inspire other initiatives in the country and in other West African countries.
The long-term changes targeted by the project concern the inclusion of young people in the national economy, the participation of young people in economic growth, the slowing down of the desires of young people for illegal migration in Europe and America, the change in the mentality of young people about illegal migration in Europe and America. The success of the project and success stories will inspire similar actions in other West African countries.
