Elephant Circle Program of the Eden Social Welfare Foundation has cared for underprivileged children since 2006, with the hope that they can enjoy the right to a fair education, better after-school care, and a healthy and nutritious breakfast. As of the end of 2023, 991 communities have been supported by the "After School Care Service" of Elephant Circle Program, helping 34,454 children in total.
Children from the poor or remote towns, due to the weakness of their social support network, are prone to cracks in their family structure under various kinds of pressure. They generally have a low sense of trust and belonging to their families of origin, are afraid of or resistant to their homes, and are inclined to wander around in groups after school, or even develop a habit of being absent from their homes.
Eden works with schools, churches, village organizations, and social organizations to provide after-school support programs for children between the ages of 3 and 18 in remote areas and special situations, child empowerment programs, community services for children and youth, and innovative programs. Students can enjoy friendly, fair, and more diversified learning opportunities through the four types of care mentioned above.
In the face of these circumstances, Eden believes that when a family loses its "caring" function and ceases to be a haven, the community should immediately extend its arms to circle a warm and loving space for them. Therefore, we have initiated the "Elephant Circle Program" to collaborate with local communities to create an elephant circle, integrating social resources and local organizations to supplement the care and nurturing functions of disabled families.
