AI Training for 500 Nigerian Doctors & Nurses

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in this project. Your attention shows that improving healthcare in Nigeria is a shared priority. While no donations have been received yet, the need for this project is urgent and cannot wait.

Nigeria has fewer than four doctors per 10,000 people, and many hospitals still rely on outdated methods for patient care. Doctors and nurses often lack training in modern tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI), which can help with diagnostics, patient monitoring, and managing medical records. Without these skills, hospitals miss opportunities to detect illnesses earlier, reduce delays, and improve outcomes, especially for patients in rural and underserved areas.

This project plans to train 500 Nigerian doctors and nurses in practical AI applications. Workshops will focus on medical imaging, record management, diagnostic support, and other tools suitable for low-resource settings. Participants will gain hands-on experience with computers, software, and AI methods, preparing them to use these skills immediately in hospitals and clinics.

The long-term impact is significant. Trained health workers will improve patient care, reduce delays, and increase efficiency in clinics and hospitals. As these doctors and nurses share their knowledge with colleagues, thousands of patients will benefit from more accurate diagnoses, better monitoring, and improved access to quality healthcare. Over time, this project will strengthen Nigeria’s health system and help close the gap between available resources and patient needs.

With support, this training can reach hundreds of health workers and improve care for thousands of Nigerians across the country.

With thanks,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
