Together with 13 local NGOs we working to support survivors in Syria

Jiyan Foundation has organized a meeting in Qamishlo to bring together civil society institutions and explore ways to assist and support survivors. The meeting was attended by 18 activists and representatives from 13 local organizations in north and east Syria. During the meeting, the participants discussed the significance of accomplishments, opportunities, skills development, and the possibility of future partnerships.

Syria earthquake: We've steadfastly committed to helping affected communities rebuild and move forward

On February 6th, 2023, a powerful earthquake resulted in widespread devastation across war-torn northwest Syria. This caused hundreds of people in the area to struggle to rebuild their lives. The situation in northwest Syria has only worsened since the disaster, with affected communities facing immense challenges such as displacement, hunger and malnutrition, lack of access to healthcare, and heat.

Psychological support to severely impacted childrenand families

In response to this urgent situation, we provided psychological support to severely impacted children and families in Syria. We are committed to helping affected communities rebuild and move forward. However, the situation in Syria continues to deteriorate, with many families still living in temporary shelters. Our team is currently providing life-saving aid for 400 IDP families who left their homes due to the earthquake damage and migrated to north-eastern Syria.

Bi-annual report 2021 / 2022

Our efforts reached out to a remarkable number of 17,500 individuals and positively impacted their lives in both 2021 and 2022.

• We provided mental health treatment to almost 5,000 individuals.
• We helped almost 4,000 people receive medical services.
• We provided physical therapy to over 800 individuals.
• We offered legal support to more than 1,200 people.
• Our dialogue program was a big success and reached almost 1,000 participants.
• We grew the Youth Network to 50 active members.
• We opened a new treatment center in Baghdad.
• The development of the Coalition for Just Reparations played a significant role in the passing of the Yazidi Female Survivors Law.
