Dear Friend,

Greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing aid to displaced families affected by the peace and order problem in Marawi City. Until now, so many evacuees have not returned home as rebuilding of the homes, livelihoods and infrastructure is very slow, if moving at all. Cultural and religious problems hamper the smooth development and transition of local communities into peaceful areas. There is also the problem of patronage politics among the local elites. Despite this setbacks we continue to assist the affected families by expanding gardening activities using the backyards of evacuation centers or the homes where the evacuees have gone. In so doing we provide them with food security via a collaborative effort and partnership with local leaders, outside support groups and the communities themselves. This reporting period we are able to provide a total of 200 families with gardening inputs comprising seeds, organic fertilizer, technical assistance and grow bags.

Hoping for your continuing support.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora
