There are over two million people living with HIV and AIDS (PLHA) in India. Since 2013, we have provided free or subsidised healthcare and counselling to over 25,000 PLHA and their families that others have refused to touch. Our 30-bed hospital Includes surgical, intensive care, pre- and post-natal care, respirators, X-ray, laboratory testing and dental facilities and will provide life-saving treatment to thousands more.
Unfortunately, one-third of Indians still hold discriminatory views towards PLHA and this includes medical professionals. When seeking treatments for our own beneficiaries we still encounter refusals from those qualified to treat them. To address this, we started our own hospital to provide health support to our beneficiaries and other PLHA from our district.
As a registered LINK ART center, our services are available to anyone living with HIV/AIDS. We offer general medical support, particularly to those suffering from opportunist infections and specialised services in optometry and palliative care. Our mission is to provide affordable and quality treatment, to those that others turn away, with dignity and respect.
Despite the negative attention HIV/AIDS attracts, with the right ART adherence and medical support PLHA can live long and healthy lives. We are there to reduce mortality rates within HIV and ensure all PLHA have access to the medical support they deserve to live fulfilling lives.
