Always a warm reception
Always a warm reception

Thank you for your support of our hospital which provides a vital lifeline to vulnerable communities, especially people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA).

Over the past few years, working with FHI 360 with support from USAID, we have been expanding our services to help prevent HIV and diagnose and treat opportunist infections as early as possible before they become life-threatening. Initially set up to treat people living with HIV, our hospital has diversified to deliver a broader outreach program. Almost every day our mobile health unit and staff jump aboard our mobile health unit to travel to surrounding villages in our largely rural district. There they conduct basic health checks such as blood tests to check haemoglobin count, oxygen saturation and blood sugar levels, measure heart rates and body mass index (BMI) and take blood pressure.

For many of us, these may be considered routine health check-ups but for the communities where we operate many, especially women, do not have the time or income to spare to keep an eye on their health. Following our check-ups we can provide basic medicine free of cost but we also often refer patients on for further consultations. Again we can offer them treatment in our hospital at subsidized rates. Tis preventative action is helping to identify many ailments which can be treated before ir=t becomes more debilitating or fatal.

We also promote HIV awareness and our other hospital services which include ear, nose and throat (ENT), dental, dermatology and ophthalmology services. All of these services are available to all beneficiaries across our 20+ projects and next week we will be holding another of our regular health camps for our 350 staff. They are our lifeblood and healthy staff means a healthy organisation which can continue to empower women, children and PLHA.

None of this would be possible without you so thank you, our health is in your hands and we are forever grateful for your support.
