Since 2015, we have provided over 10,000 teens the chance to discover their purpose by helping them explore their passions. 48 free after school programs in STEAM, Media, Girl Empowerment, Community Service and Wellness are all Teen-Led, Teen-Driven, giving older teens the space to lead while mentoring younger teens who grow up to be the future leaders of Alive. Your support sponsors a teen to attend a Robotics club, Hip Hop, learn to prepare a healthy meal, create a podcast, or make a friend!
Too many of our teens are stressed, anxious, and depressed. Today's teens face many risks and challenges - drug use, alcohol, sex, obesity, self-esteem, mental health issues, pressure to perform and more. The unsupervised hours after school and during the summer are some of the most crucial - and vulnerable - hours of a teen's life. After school programs combat these issues by providing a safe, supervised environment during those hours where they can take safe risks and discover who they are.
A significant amount of these challenges can be prevented by providing teens with experiences that allow them more say in the solutions. The Alive Center is where passion meets purpose. Helping kids to find passion and purpose leads to happier, more confident, resilient members of society. We give kids a space to explore who they are through safe, real-life experiences including managing failure. The Alive Center's unique model helps support strong mental health and prevents at-risk behavior.
This project will serve over 3500 teens per year at our 3 locations, allowing them to explore their passions, discover their purpose, and prepare them for their futures with more confidence in their own gifts and abilities. By providing a foundation for belonging, discovery, and leadership through our programs, we are preparing confident, resilient teens who will benefit their future communities by continuing to share what makes them 'come Alive' and inspiring others to do the same.
