Four Years Later, the Humanitarian Crisis Continues
More than four years have passed since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. For millions of people, however, the humanitarian emergency has not ended — it has simply become part of everyday life.
Behind every food package is a person facing uncertainty, hardship, or loss. Elderly people living alone, mothers raising children without support, people with disabilities, and families forced to leave their homes continue to depend on humanitarian assistance to meet their most basic needs.
The "5000 Packages for Ukraine" project was launched to ensure that, even after years of war, vulnerable people affected by the conflict know they have not been forgotten.
Delivering Food Where It Is Needed Most
Since the launch of the initiative in July 2024, the Krakow Food Bank, working closely with its trusted partner organizations, has delivered a total of 290,865.87 kg of food assistance.
This is equivalent to more than 29,086 food packages weighing approximately 10 kilograms each, providing essential support to thousands of people affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Current Reporting Period: June–October 2026
During this reporting period, we distributed:
Total food assistance delivered: 23,880.11 kg
Our assistance reached people in need through a network of dedicated local partner organizations, including:
These partnerships remain essential to our mission, allowing us to reach vulnerable individuals and families and respond to their ongoing needs.
Beyond Our Original Goal — Continuing Our Mission
When we launched the "5000 Packages for Ukraine" project, our goal was to provide 5,000 food packages to people affected by the war.
Today, we have delivered the equivalent of more than 29,000 packages — almost six times our original target.
This remarkable achievement has been made possible by the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our partner organizations, and the continued commitment of everyone who believes that humanitarian solidarity must endure, even when a crisis disappears from the headlines.
But reaching our initial goal does not mean our work is finished.
The humanitarian needs remain immense, and many families continue to struggle with food insecurity, displacement, and the long-term consequences of war.
That is why the Krakow Food Bank remains committed to continuing its humanitarian assistance, reaching people in need and ensuring that essential food supplies remain available to those who depend on them.
Looking Ahead
More than four years into the full-scale war, solidarity matters as much as ever.
Thanks to your continued support, we can keep providing food assistance, strengthening local partnerships, and standing alongside people whose lives have been profoundly affected by the conflict.
Together, we are doing more than delivering food. We are preserving dignity, strengthening resilience, and feeding hope.
Thank you for helping us turn 5,000 packages into more than 29,000 — and for making it possible to continue our mission.
