Our charity provides English education to over 800 students at two government schools in Phuket. In order for these children to receive a free English education, we must raise funds to pay for their fully qualified, fluent English speaking teachers. The amount we are currently fundraising for will provide 20 underprivileged Thai students with an entire year of English education by covering a portion of the teacher's salary and the cost of class equipment and materials.
In Thailand, the tourism industry is flourishing. However, Thai locals in Phuket struggle to profit from tourism due to lack of English skills. Without English education, many local families remain in poverty and the children of these families are unable to break the cycle. As a result, foreigners are profiting from Phuket tourism instead of Phuket locals. The only way to change this is to make English education available to all Thai youths, including the 800 underprivileged students we support.
We help the Thai community gain economic opportunities by providing qualified, fluent English teachers for two Government schools in Phuket which cannot afford to employ English speaking teachers. With this project, twenty 4th grade students will be able to learn English from a qualified, fluent English teacher for an entire school year. Consequently, their English capabilities will develop, along with their potential for advanced financial futures.
This project will break through language limitations and give our students the ability to work, progress, and thrive in both local and international industries. With the ability to speak a global language like English, the potential to influence and benefit from evolving business trends, especially in Thailand's tourism industry, becomes available to our students and opens the door to careers and experiences unobtainable without this opportunity.
