She died yesterday. Saturday. It's very sad and shocking. She will be missed by so many. I was told it was a reckless taxi driver that hit her as she stood on the side of the road. I do not know where her body is. I understand that her family was deciding yesterday if her body brought back home to Australia.
In Eastern Uganda. Hundreds of children and new mothers lose their lives in Uganda because there's no emergency transport to hospital. People are using bicycles as shown in the photo. The bicycles are very slow and they are difficult to use in poor terrain surface. The patients always die on the way because they reach hospital late. With your help, Given to bless will buy an ambulance, such as the Toyota Landcruiser.
Patricia helped our community through a difficult tim of COVID-19, distributing food items, picking up patient with her personal car, our community would be so satisfied to know that buying a community ambulance in her remembering. Patricia's story will continue through our work in community. You'll be able to see the actual impact of your donation. We'll provide updates we shall arrange longer-term volunteer opportunities. We estimate that the ambulance will save 120 additional lives per year.
Ambulances are still rare in most rural areas, villages, communities in Uganda. To provide community paramedicine programs that can be effective in improving health outcomes for our community, rural vulnerable populations. Longer term would enhance service delivery to isolated communities , extend paramedic care. We're raising funds for a life-saving ambulance that will be used to transport ill children, mothers in labour pain, accident patients that need urgent medical or surgical attention.
