As the violence in Israel and Gaza rages on and the humanitarian needs intensify, you can help support the health and well-being of survivors by contributing to Americares response efforts. Americares is focused on the most urgent medical needs of civilians caught in the crisis. Americares is currently partnering to provide medical supplies for Gaza, support for Healthcare Providers in Israel, and care for Mental Health.
Since the Israel Gaza war started on October 7, 2023, tens of thousands of people have been killed or injured throughout Israel and Gaza. An estimated 1.7M people have been displaced throughout Gaza - about 75 percent of the population. Intense fighting continues to push thousands of people into Rafah, where over half of Gaza's population is currently sheltering. Those displaced are largely living in overcrowded, makeshift shelters without access to clean water and adequate nutrition.
Americares is working with seven partner organizations with staff on the ground in Israel and Gaza. Your support will bolster our work to increase access to medicine, medical supplies and mental health support for frontline healthcare providers and survivors.
Contributions will directly support the provision of health-focused humanitarian aid as well as response and recovery programming, including mental health and psychosocial support. The crisis is incredibly complex and rapidly evolving. We know the longer the war goes on, the more support will be needed for survivors and frontline responders. We have a long history of supporting health care systems in the region with deliveries of medicine and medical supplies, and support for health programs.
