Dear Supporters and Friends,
The past few months have seen even more education outreach for the animals.
We have been very active with education campaigns with Dr Aurelian taking part in a London Christmas fair with our UK representatives giving information to the public about the work we do and why we do it. We also sent one of our Vets, Dr. Luiza, to a book fair for the launch of a book called "Floss the Lost Puppy "which is in Romanian and English with some of the proceeds of its sale being used to support our work. There was the opportunity for Luiza to meet and talk to students from local schools about animal welfare. She was pleased to find the majority were very concerned about the welfare of animals in Romania.
Our education in schools work continued in December with a visit from around 30 children from an after school group. They had the opportunity to look around the center, see some of our cases, listen to a heart with a stethoscope, look down the microscope as well as find out about what the work of a vet and vet assistant involves. It was a lot to take in and we were very impressed how interested they all were.
The Veterinary Training Camp project had two attendees Zita a student from Denmark and Catalina, a sponsored vet from Cluj, Romania who returned to continue her training. She sent us this comment on her return home
"Hi Nancy! I am on my way back home. Thank you for the great oportunity to work with the dream team again. I feel more confident to do surgery on my own now. Also I wouldn't have been able to go to the center of hope if I wouldn't have been able to take my toddler with me. Thank you for the amazing work you do for the Romania animals!"
January saw the return of the British ambassador to Romania, Paul Brummel. This time he visited The Center of Hope and found out a little more about our work and our plans for the future. With his help there may be the opportunity to make some connections within the English schools within Bucharest which would be a great opportunity.
Thank you for continuing to support our work in Romania, and enjoy the photos from the Center of Hope and the book launch in Bucharest!
