Dr. Elena Receives a Scholarship to VTC
![]()
Greetings Animal Lovers!
The Romania Animal Rescue provided a scholarship for Dr. Elena to attend the Veterinary Training Camp at the Center of Hope.
We met Elena 10 years ago when we did a spayathon in Adjud. She was a local volunteer. She was inspired by this campaign to become a veterinarian herself.
Now Dr. Elena wanted to heighten her skill level and asked to attend VTC. We were able to give the $1500 scholarship as donations allow. VTC provides all the training and lodging for attending vets to become proficient in spay/neuter surgeries, emergency procedures and a high standard of care example for other vets.
Dr. Elena sent this to me:
"Hi, Nancy!
Just wanted to tell you I m so grateful for this experience, it was so nice for me to see them again after 10 years and actually learn from them, not just monitoring the animals.
Probably I didnt tell you, I met them 10 years ago: Aurelian, Roxana and also Luana which unfortunately is not with us anymore, in a spaying campaign in Adjud. I was wow, simply amazed by how they work and their involvement.. so that was the moment when I decided to be a vet.
So this I figured out I needed to learn more things than I thought.. small incisions, to use instruments to find the uterus, the safe rupture of ovarian ligament, Miller ligature, intradermal suture, type of anesthesia to use only one shot and iv s later if needed, and not the least important thing: to operate alone.
I found amazing all the hospital, everything is so new to me, I never saw a clinic with this size and this aspect but also the people are really good ones, animal lovers and also intubatated animals are very well cared. Aurelian and Roxana gave me lot tehnical dates to improve my practice and Miruna, wow, she was so patient with me.
I met also two of my university colleagues: Daniel and Alexandra, but also all the others were so friendly, the place to sleep is just like a hotel, you just feel like home there!
Thank you for this amazing experience, i ll be forever grateful! Now back to work and hope I wont dissappont anyone (either myself) and I ll succeed to make a small neutering center in Bacau. First step is to make an ONG and I already started so fingers crossed the infos I gain with your help, will be useful and free for all animals in our city."
OUR SINCEREST THANKS TO YOU, OUR DONORS, WHO HELP MAKE THIS TRAINING POSSIBLE.
