New Building and New Television Program

By Nancy Janes | President, Founder and CEO

First cat microchip registry in Romania
First cat microchip registry in Romania
Greetings Friends,
There's more opportunity than ever for us to reach thousands of people with our education program in Romania.  Starting September 17, our work will be presented in a 12 episode reality program on TV.  It is a page of history for the animals in Romania!  And we now have a running advertisement in the Bucharest subway inviting the public to consider helping homeless animals.
We also are near completion of the new extension to the already existing Center of Hope near Bucharest.  The extension will include the Anna Marie Janes Education Seminar Room, the Largest Spay/Neuter facility in Romania,  and Homeless Animals Hospital facility treating thousands of injured animals we receive needing veterinary care.  In addition, this building as well as the original Center are built with "green" technology using solar panels.  Our energy bill for the Center of Hope in July was an amazing $8.  Saving more money to help the animals!
We secured a contract with the County of Ilfov (Bucharest and vicinity)  to spay/neuter animals.....another first of its kind.  Their  volunteers actively reach the villages and bring dogs and cats in with the help of the Spay Shuttle to the Center of Hope for surgeries and treatments.  This week we are heading to Sibiu, returning to the place where we held our first Spayathon in 2008, to hold yet another campaign for the villages.
Dr. Aurelian and volunteer Catalin have set up the first cat microchip registry in Romania.  So many kitties will be reunited to their guardians thanks to this.
All of this work to help educate the public and bring about true and lasting change in Romania are only possible with donations from our friends.
Please continue to support this hard endeavor.......onward and upward!
