Our animal mobile clinic vans are getting more and more calls now that we have been doing a lot more public engagement activities. We are also actively engaging compassionate citizens to help with vaccination of street puppies. We were able to treat a total of 309 new cases.
New cases treated by vans: A1 - 181, A2 - 187, A3 – 171; and follow up cases were: A1 – 75, A2 – 88, A3 – 67. We were able to complete treatments of 201 animals within January 2018.
A total of 203 street dogs were vaccinated against rabies. Our team did a total of 402 public interactions for rabies awareness and dog bite first aid.
The cold wave continued right until the end of January and we continued receiving several cases of accidental injuries due to cars being run over on puppies. These are the puppies that come out and sleep under the morning sun for some warmth, but careless driving is taking a toll.
