Anti Rabies vaccination drive for city stray dogs
Anti Rabies vaccination drive for city stray dogs

Anti-rabies vaccination drive was organized by Jivdaya Charitable Trust to prevent the spread of rabies, a deadly virus that is transmitted through the bite of an infected animal, usually a dog. Rabies is a serious public health issue in many parts of the world, including India, where it is estimated that around 20,000 people die of rabies each year.

Jivdaya Charitable Trust recently conducted an Anti-Rabies Vaccination camp with the help of a local stray animal feeder group and covered different parts of Ahmedabad. This drive took more than 16 hours to complete and vaccinated as many stray dogs as possible, so the dogs do not lose their lives to this deadly virus. Our team of staffs & volunteers tirelessly completed the vaccine to the dogs from over 15 different parts of the city.

The community strays are a big part of our day-to-day life. They not only show their love towards their human friends, but they also protect their locality with their lives. These loyal furry friends deserve love and care from us. The drive was an initiative to take care of the health of our local strays as well as ourselves and make the city Rabies-free. We are not that far away from the dreams come true where all humans and strays live in peace and harmony and our society becomes a cruelty-free place for every living being.

We thank you all for being kind towards the speechless souls. Together, we will be transforming this world to be a better place.

‘Mili’s Tail Story:

Our Animal Care on Wheels Team received a call that a dog has been severely injured by a moving vehicle and in tremendous pain. Our team rushed to the place and saw Mili lying, bleeding and her tail and two paws are smashed.

We came to know that Mili stays near a food stall where she gets food and the owner loves Mili very much. Every day she spends her entire evening in front of the food stall with food and love. All the people who eat there regularly know Mili and pamper her. She is everyone’s favourite for her loving nature. That night when everyone left Mili curled up inside a parked car and slept. The driver did not notice Mili under the car and he started the vehicle and damaged her tail and paws. Thankfully, Mili was saved from life-threatening injuries as the vehicle was parked. The driver happens to know the food stall owner and informed him about Mili’s condition. By the time the owner reached the location it was morning, but he did not know where to go for her treatment. When he was standing next to injured Mili helplessly a passer-by saw him and give him the contact details of Jivdaya Charitable Trust. He immediately asked for help and our team took Mili to the hospital. As Mili stays alone on the road at night our doctors decided to keep her in our dog kennel under their treatment and supervision as there is a chance for her to get an infection from her injuries. After her complete recovery, Mili will go back to her old place, in front of her favourite food stall.

‘Remo’ received immediate aid for his open wound & severe skin disease:

Remo is an old dog who lives in front of his local owner’s house. Lately, Remo developed some skin irritation which started spreading all over his body. His vision is also blurred due to his age. Recently, Remo injured himself from a barbed wire. Wounded Remo came back in front of his local owner’s gate that night and slept. He woke up in the middle of the night in pain and couldn’t control himself but cried out loud. The kind man came out immediately and checked on him and found out that Remo has a severe skin infection and an open wound. The owner called our ‘Animal Care on Wheels’ team first thing in the morning for Remo. Team Jivdaya reached the location and treated Remo with the required medication and suggested an oral supplement for the next few days. Also, they carefully cleaned his eyes followed by an eye drop.

Remo grew up in front of that house when he was a tiny puppy, and the entire family loves him. Looking at his condition and age the family took Remo inside their house and from now on Remo will be staying with them safely inside his new home.
