In second and third week of May the majority of cases seen were that of dehydration. Due to scorching heat and summers, animals find it difficult to cope up with the water requirements of their body. Animals can not exactly justify their water needs unless fed upon. Torrential urbanization and industrialization are leading to scarcity of readily available drinking water. The trust works a lot on finding solutions to animal’s dehydration.
Majority of the animals are either found fallen on the ground or stuck on one place due to weakness or unconsciousness. The mobile care on wheels by Jivdaya Charitable Trust works very hard to reduce such cases. In addition to it an ORS campaign is being run on weekends to make people aware of animals and dehydration. The staff and volunteers from Jivdaya Charitable Trust organize a camp in various areas of the city on weekends where they distribute water pots for helping the animals quench their thirst. Information leaflets are distributed which contains all the details on do's and don'ts for taking care of animals in the condition of dehydration. Along with the pots, ORS is given too, to add on to water plus the information is given as to how to make an ORS at home.
The animals found suffering from dehydration were kept on fluid therapy to rehydrate.
Jivdaya Charitable Trust requests here for donation to be able to cope with the daily activities of the hospital. The NGO aims at all round animal welfare of the un-owned animals. All the activities of the NGO are carried out utilizing the donation obtained from the donors. Awareness camps are conducted; interactions are done in public and with the public. Animal lovers and the people who are compassionate about animals come forward and provide us with a helping hand.
In the 2nd & 3rd week of May there were total 157 new cases. They were treated by respective vans as follows: A1 – 51, A2 – 55, and A3 –51
The follow up cases were: A1 – 72, A2 – 47, and A3 – 51. In all 170 cases were closed after proper treatment and follow up.
Approximately 125 dogs were vaccinated against rabies and in all around 300 public interactions took place for rabies awareness and ORS campaign to help animals stay away from dehydration.
We feel obliged to our Donors, without the support of whom itwould have been an impossible task.
We invite people to support us, donate, and be a part of an amazing community who aims at helping the animals and their welfare.
