Animal Care on Wheels

Jivdaya Charitable Trust provides animal care on wheels through three of its mobile vans. All the three vans travel in different areas of the city of Ahmedabad. A professional team of vets, para-vets, and assistants treat animals with utmost care. Every day many animals are treated for various ailments. For instance, in the first and second week of June major cases seen were that of Canine Distemper (CD). Canine distemper is a contagious and serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of puppies and dogs. There were a few new cases of CD and many were the follow-up cases. Many cases of dehydration were seen too along with a few cases of fractures, and accidental injuries. Fluid therapy is given to the dehydration cases. Now the monsoon season will be starting and proper care must be taken as the ticks and maggots cases will increase now due to open wounds and injuries.

Animal Care on Wheel's statistical report for first and second week of June'18 is as follows:

Total New cases: A1 – 110, A2 – 92, and A3 – 117

Follow-up cases: A1 – 57, A2 – 138, and A3 – 70

Cases closed: A1 – 70, A2 – 53, and A3 – 78

So, in total 319 new cases were treated, 265 follow-up cases, and 201 were the cases closed. Out of all the cases treated 572 were dogs, 8 were cats, and 4 were cows. One of the cows had two fractures in left hind leg. The tibia and tarsal bones were fractured, splint bandage was done. The vets will be doing the follow up until the cow’s fractures are healed completely.

Jivdaya Charitable Trust is an animal welfare NGO working for stray animals, the animals not owned by anyone. The treatment is done free of cost. All the expenses suffice on the funds raised by the NGO.

We request you to help us gain funds so that we can treat more and more animals, sustain this chain of helping and conserve the nature.
