Canine Parvovirus (CPV) or commonly referred to as ‘Parvo’ is one of the most serious viruses that dogs can get. It is highly contagious and spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. The condition often causes abdominal pain, diarrhoea, vomiting and other clinical signs.
Fortunately, this can be cured with timely treatment, but mortality can reach 91% in untreated cases.
‘Bhura’a 5-6 months old puppy was affected with this deadly virus. Initially it did not show any symptoms but slowly Bhura started symptoms like lethargy, bloody diarrhoea, and vomiting.
Looking at his condition his local caretaker immediately called our ‘Animal Care on Wheels’ team for a prompt treatment. When our team reached the spot Bhura was extremely weak and couldn’t even open his eyes during the treatment.
Thankfully after the medication Bhura gained back his energy to fight with this dangerous virus. He will be completely cured in no time with regular follow up treatment by Jivdaya’s ‘Animal Care on Wheels’ service.
