This quarter has been wonderful in the life of Not Guilty.

1- Not Guilty  trained 200 students  from 5 government schools in Shobra about empathy.  boys and girls between the ages of 9-14. This training was in partnership with  Ashoka, Alwan and Awtar and Tanweer . Changing attitudes and behaviors of the next generation is an exciting project.

2- Not Guilty trained 30 women leaders in Menya, in upper Egypt from 6 villages. This is a project where the women are taught about leadership, how to write a business plan, how to be a good wife, a good mother, how to protect herself from sexual abuse and harassment. She comes for six months during the weekends. All the girls are between the ages of 17 and 25. At the end of the project each group (5 women) get $1500 to start a small project in her village. Leaders from She Is Safe attended with us and helped in teaching.

3- The religious institute in Egypt is very powerful. The voice of religious leaders whether Christians or Moslems is highly respected. Not Guilty has started a project to train leaders from the Coptic Orthodox Church. This is the second round of raising awareness of the Coptic Orthodox church about the reality of sexual abuse.  52 priests and 1 bishop attended this time. Each priest is expected to bring lay leaders from his church to be trained as a trainer against sexual abuse to help abolish sexual abuse in Egypt.

4- Dr. Laila Risgallah, Founder and President of Not Guilty  published a new book by the name "Asrar" in Arabic, which means secrets, and "The Silver Box" in English. The book contains ten real short stories about girls who have been sexually abused and how it affected their lives. The book is available in both Arabic and English.
If you would like to have a copy, don't hesitate to contact us.

5- Laila launched "Factory of Women", a documentary that talks about sexual abuse and harassment in factory girls. The event was attended by representatives from the ministry of education, ministry of population, ministry of social affairs, actors, media and  TV . Not Guilty is advocating to open the file of harassment in factory girls.

6- We had so much fun teaching 20 boys and girls aged 4-8 how to protect themselves using the SKIT method: say no, keep your private parts private, it is not your fault, tell someone.

We are in the last stages of finalizing the protocol between the ministry of education and Not Guilty for Family Development. We expect to start next September with the first of its kind anti sexual abuse anti bullying curriculum in 25 government schools. Your support will be much appreciated. $125 a year will help train one student. We are targeting 4500 students in one school year.
