Proof That we Need Not Guilty Curriculum

When you start a new monthly recurring donation for my project between now and Friday, September 25, a generous anonymous donor will match your initial gift 100%.

This is an email I got from a mother and daughter whom I have been counseling.

“My daughter is doing so well with the activities and the program you gave us. In fact, she was so inspired by the activities she wants to create a movement. Create a children's society for children and by children who have been abused. She wanted to make a YouTube campaign. To educate other children.

Anything like this of course would have to be done very carefully, but goodness knows maybe it needs to be done.

You have a huge advocate for your cause right now, not just in me but definitely also in her.

We are reading the book you gave us, we got up to Entry so far. Her best friend, is staying with us this week, and we did the activities together - it uncovered an abuse she'd been hiding, an older boy had abused her and she felt too embarrassed to talk about it, she thought his mother would be angry at her. She didn't believe me at first when I said she would not. She had tears in her eyes. It was amazing just the activities made her feel better and strong enough to talk about it. Was a total surprise. They are playing the good touch bad touch game and they LOVE the activity of throwing the clay at the body outline. I used a white board and made it massive. They stand on a trampoline I have, small circle and they jump on it and shout at the person they are angry at. My daughter began with swear words so I helped her by teaching her hot to use good language with no swear words to express her anger.,

I put some of those words and then they come up with their own.

The discussion also brought up bullying at my daughter’s school too. It seems the harassment starts really young. It was awful some of the things she was telling me. Most of the bullying is done by the boys. The chants they say to the girls (maybe you've heard them) are:

Pizza hut pizza hut, I'll put your pizza on my butt and you can eat it.

Yoyoyo I put my finger in my popo... and in your popo... etc.

I told her she needs to tell the teachers when someone says such things to her. This is harrassment and no one has a right to talk to her this way. I also told her she has to turn their comments around to embarrass them to stop. like.. ewwww. how disgusting, you put your finger up your popo!! No wonder you stink so bad!

I mean, these taunts are disgusting, what ridiculous things to say. But you can see clearly it is the start of sexual intimidation, it IS harassment in my view.

She says the boys move their hips around, thrusting them like they are doing a hula hoop pushing their penises up.

When she did the exercise about the big person she was angry at, she chose her father. She was full of so much anger and I think it helped her to release it in a safe way. She said that his tongue was slimy like a slug. It was awful to hear her say those words but I tried not to let her see any emotion in my face and looked away as she said this.

I cannot thank you enough”.
