Empowering Tomorrow: Armath Program impact

By Maya Shahumyan | Project Manager

Since the beginning of the Armath engineering makerspaces educational program in 2011, the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) has been dedicated to the growth of the Armath. This initiative aims to expand engineering labs, improve technical education resources, and create a global student network. Additionally, UATE has persistently worked to share the Armenian model of technology education with the world (currently there are Armath makerspaces in USA, France, Kuwait, India, Eswatini, Bangladesh, Georgia).

Progress Based on Project Goals:
  1. Student Participation: In 2023, more than 17,300 students actively engaged in Armath engineering labs across Armenia, the USA, France, India, and other countries.

  2. Lab Integration: Incorporating labs into schools has helped shape realistic career expectations and provided students with a deeper understanding of their chosen professions.

  3. Skill Acquisition: Students have excelled in programming languages and engineering modeling, participating actively in competitions such as ArmRobotics and DigiCode and from May 2024 also in Koreez-Armath competition.

  4. Teamwork and Collaboration: Teamwork and collaboration have been fundamental to student participation in various phases of the project.

  5. Expansion of Labs: Armath initiated a lab expansion project through a fundraising campaign. Currently, eight campaigns are live, with local community teams raising over 52% of the total fundraising target, 4 fundraising campaigns reached their goals and Armath makerspaces has been established there.

  6. Collaboration perspectives grow fast: Coaches of Armath makerspaces participate in diverse workshops to expand their network and professional skillset by connecting with techcommunity.

This report underscores the continued success and impact of the Armath program, highlighting its role in empowering students and fostering a skilled workforce in technology and engineering.
