Art of Living Schools

Dear dnors/supporters - 

It’s time for the third project progress in 2022 providing feedback on the activities and achievements of the second quarter of 2022.

• Art of Living Free schools are now providing free, value-based & holistic education to 80,207 students through 982 free schools. Congratulations to each one of you donors, for this phenomenal growth this year!

• New construction and inaugration of schools and toilets in West Bengal & Tripura. 

• The team in India was happy to announce that there has been a number of new construction of Sri Sri Gnan Mandir schools in different villages of West Bengal and Tripura. 

• Playground built for SSG school in Dahigaon, Maharastra. 

• Distribution of school bags, books and uniforms. The schools in the States of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Haryana, distributed school bags, books and uniforms to the students. 
  

• Summer Camp held for students of school in Tamil Nadu: Summer camp was held for the students of class 3 to 9 in our school in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. The camp was held from 6th to 25th May from morning 9.30am to 5.30pm. The children were kept engaged in multiple activities. A Tamil Traditional Martial Art called Silambam which involves self-defense techniques were taught to the students. Apart from the martial art the students were also taught vocal music, shlokas and moral stories from the Bhagavad Gita, Vedic Maths, Spoken English, Pencil Drawing and Exercises for Physical fitness. They also learnt to recite Thirukurral which are tamil poems by the greatest poet Thiruvalluvar. Except for Karate, all the other activities were taught by women from around the village.

• Students of the school in Karnataka State underwent a dental checkup. Dental Professional doctors checked on the cavities, plaque and tartar of the students.

Dear donors,

Thank you for your continued valuable support via your generous contributions.

Most of the schools started online classes before the ongoing summer break.

As our schools in the States of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tripura, West Bengal, Haryana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, opened up after the Pandemic in March 2022, the team could witness a hive of activity going on in these schools. Students enthusiastically sprang into action diving into different activities like, chanting morning prayers, getting into physical activity like yoga, sitting for meditation, cleaning the surrounding of the school along with the teachers and staff, diligently jotting down notes from the black boards, enjoying dancing and singing their rhymes, playing with crayons by drawing beautiful designs, gardening and more! Students, Teachers and Staff were very happy returning back to the normal routine which had come to a stop because of the pandemic.

Each contribution gives these children the resources and the support they need and  together, we are able to do so much more for these schools.
