Art of Living Schools GlobalGiving Report (1st quarter, 2021)
We hope all of you have been keeping well during these times. This is an update on what's been going on with the Schools' programme in India over the past few months.
Although Covid situation has kept the schools closed, the team remains active and engaged streaming online wherever possible, supporting the teachers, and families, in so far as much is possible given the restrictions. GCSE level exams however are planned for in many areas. Schools found ways to celebrate festivals via live streaming, thereby keeping the festive cheer alive on digital platforms and also focussed on activity-based learning to increase creativity.
Most of the schools are offering online classes for those students who have a phone in the family and are in the network areas. Teachers were also provided online training before they could support the students.
During the lockdown, students did various activities related to art and craft work, paintings, presentation on chart paper about Covid-19 precaution from their respective homes.
With the help of the funds, additional two classrooms are being constructed at Barwatoli school (Jharkhand). This will make possible for more children in nearby areas to avail education.
Bhubaneshwar (Assam) school has been provided with a certificate of appreciate from Office of the Block Elementary Education Officer SSA, Katigorah (that is, local government education office) for her dedicated e-learning support to the learners of schools under Katigorah Education Block during the lockdown period of covid-19.
This would not have been possible without your ongoing support. We would like to sincerely thank each one of you.
