Hi all.

I am Nanami, a program manager of Youth Venture Program of Ashoka Japan!

About our programs;

ASHOKA
Founded in 1980, Ashoka is the largest network of "social entrepreneurs" based in Washington D.C, United States. Ashoka has expanded its work to more than 93 countries with offices in
40 countries currently. With the vision of the society where "Everyone a Changemaker", Ashoka is working on 3 main projects: Ashoka fellows, Youth Years, and Co-creation. There are now 3500 fellows of social entrepreneurs in our network making changes every day.

ASHOKA Youth Venture
A program for youth, between the age range of 12 to 20, started in 2000 in the United States and in 2012 in Japan. Through this program, Ashoka has been supporting the youth who take actions with their full passion, to solve the small issues with that they notice in their everyday life as Youth Venturer. Ashoka has supported 97 teams (350 individuals) so far.

Panel Selection
Panel Screening is the open- screening of the Youth Venturer candidates where it is determined if they will be the Youth Venturer. As panelists, (judges), Ashoka invites diverse people from different areas who resonate with the vision of Ashoka.

Youth Changemakers Exchange
Ashoka Japan is proud to announce the launch of the first US-Japan Changemakers Exchange, taking place in the United States on March 21-29, 2019. The selected group of six Japanese Youth Venturers, all under the age of 20, will participate in a tour to deepen their thoughts on social change.

ASHOKA Youth Social Venture FUNDRAISING PITCH
Youth Venturers and U30 Ashoka Friends who have won the qualifications by Ashoka Fellows and Capitalists will pitch about their own activities. Visitors are able to support these young people with their donation.

Youth Venturers visited New York & Philadelphia!

US-Japan Youth Changemakers Exchange

Japanese Youth Venturers visited New York and Philadelphia!

Six of Youth Venturers (five of high school students and one college student) who are trying to solve social issues were selected as the participants of this trip from 97 teams of youth venturers in Japan. Each of them has own project out of school, they are challenging for it with their intrinsic motivation.
Youth Venturers spent the first three days in New York City to meet with Ashoka Fellows such as Sascha Haselmayer, Founder & CEO of Citymart, and also visited Eye-to-Eye. They also presented their activities at Japan Society New York, inspired many audiences. Then traveled to Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania to engage with students at the newly established Social Innovation Lab at the Lang Center for Civic & Social Responsibility and learn about their latest initiatives. The final day, Youth Venturers visited Columbia University in New York City, they noticed the difference in the culture and atmosphere between the college in the city and in the countryside.
Youth Venturers are now planning the reporting event of this program, it will be held in a couple of months in Japan.

We are using your donation to create opportunities where Youth Venturers (including who is not encouraged continuing the activity by their environment because of their parents or teachers who want their children to be elite or ignore their children's feelings) can get confidence and proceed with their project and their own life.

We would like to change such a situation around youth in Japan.
