This girl is 9 years old and is in 3rd grade at the Dreamer´s Center School of the God´s Child Project. In January of 2015 the family came to the God´s Child Project looking for educational support for their daughter due to various problems in the family (economical, illnesses and the family´s living conditions etc.). The girl was accepted at the Dreamer´s Center along with 3 sisters of varying ages.
She is a very special case because she has already suffered a lot at her young age. Her mother is her only support and she will need more attention than the other children since she has attempted to commit suicide. The girl, her 3 siblings and mother have suffered since her father was kidnapped and killed 6 years ago.
The Project is supporting the girl´s family in several ways because we want to help her to heal from all that she has suffered and help her to have a childhood without worries and adult problems. As a special case they will receive medical and psychological care and legal counsel. They will also receive donated vegetables every Friday. The Dreamer´s Center will provide breakfast and lunch for the girl as well as school supplies and shoes.
Despite the problems that the girl has faced she is happy here at the Dreamer´s Center and travels from Chimaltenango every day with her sisters to go to school and get a good education.
