Project Report | Feb 27, 2026
Reinforcing Dreams

By Melissa Ramos | Education Coordinator

Mishel was enrolled in the programme in June 2025 after being referred by the Scholarship and Sponsorship Programme. She arrived with a history of poor academic performance and with the imminent risk of repeating the grade again. She had already repeated seventh grade and faced the possibility of abandoning her studies.

However, behind those difficulties there was something stronger: an enthusiastic young woman, with clear goals and a heart determined to improve herself.

Mishel dreams of becoming a surgeon. This aspiration is born from a deeply significant experience: the operation on her father's eyes, a moment that marked her life and awakened in her the desire to help others through medicine.

At home, Mishel is the older sister of a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy diagnosed with grade 2 autism. Her siblings are her daily engine, and her greatest motivation is to become an example for them.

During her tenure in the programme in 2025, Mishel received constant academic reinforcement, homework accompaniment, and emotional support. Gradually, the shyness began to fade.

Classes ceased to be a space of fear and started to become a terrain for growth.

With psychological support, she strengthened her self-esteem. With school reinforcement, her academic performance improved. With the close accompaniment of her teachers, she began to believe in herself.

The result was clear: she managed to pass the year and continue her studies.

 Mishel's Testimony

"When I entered the programme I was very afraid. I had already repeated the grade and felt that perhaps I was not able to continue studying. I was very shy and many times I thought I was not going to make it.

In the Reinforcement Programme I found something I didn't expect: people who believed in me before I could believe in myself. My teachers supported me patiently, explained the assignments, solved my doubts and motivated me when I felt that I wanted to give up.

Little by little I overcame my fears, improved my grades and managed to get through the year. That was a huge accomplishment for me and my family.

This year I decided to return because I want to continue growing, learn more and get closer to my dream of being a Medical Surgeon. Now I feel more confident, more motivated and eager to show that I can.

Thanks to the programme, today I not only continue studying, but I also believe in my ability to get ahead."

 Looking ahead to 2026

Now, in 2026, Mishel continues to be more motivated than ever in the programme. Her goal is not only to get good grades, but to honour her mother's efforts and provide a better future for her siblings.

She wishes to repay the support received with academic excellence, discipline and commitment. She dreams of offering her family stability, dignity and opportunities.

Mishel's story reminds us that when a student receives comprehensive support, not only does their academic performance improve: it transforms the way they see themselves and project their future.

In the Dreamer Reinforcement Programme we do not only reinforce subjects.

We reinforce dreams.
