The project plans to send 200 children back to school by paying for their fees and providing other basic school needs and also to run a child friendly space for 500 children from poor and vulnerable families. This is aimed at providing second chance learning and educational opportunities to 700 children who are victims of the ongoing armed conflict between the government forces and the non state armed groups in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon, in Bui Division, North Region of Cameroon.
The ongoing armed conflict between the government forces and the non- state armed groups in the two Anglophone Regions of Cameroon, have displaced thousands of people. Schools have been closed for four years and according to UNICEF, Over 800000 children are out of school, depriving them of their right to education and exposing them to all sorts of exploitation. The project targets 700 children from poor and vulnerable families who are the primary victims due to poverty which weakens resistance
The project will assist 200 children to go back to school by relocating them to other safer Regions, place them in foster homes, enroll them in schools, pay their schools fees and provide for their basic school needs. For the children that will not be relocated, the project will run a child friendly space program that will focus on reading and writing skills and basic computer studies. This will keep children busy, provide them the opportunity to learn while playing and protect them from harm
The project will educate 200 children and offer 500 children from vulnerable families a second chance educational opportunities through our child friendly space programs. The community volunteer teachers will help develop the culture of reading in children and open them to opportunities and drive to pursue higher education goals and the power to seek better jobs that will in turn improve on their family and community economic situation. children right to education will be respected
