Challenge

The fund seeks contributions for complementary para-medical treatments [which are not among the therapies and treatments provided by the Ministry of Education], therapeutic and technological equipment, infrastructure improvement and organizes enrichment and recreation.

Solution

Autistic children are challenged with communications with other people. In the schools the Fund supports, half the children are non-verbal and rely on iPads with dedicated Apps for their requests, needs and studying. We not only wish for the teacher to communicate with a autistic child via the iPad, but wish for the lesson to be enjoyed by all the classroom. Using iPads connected to an AppleTv and Tv, we can project the lesson to the entire class, while the teacher interacts with one child.

Long-Term Impact

It has been proven that the more therapy and enrichment Autistic children and youth receive, the higher their chances to maximize their potential. The fund aims to add para-medical therapies; Kung-Fu, dance, "typing as a means of communication", along with advanced technological equipment and activities (hikes, pool sessions in the summer). For many of the children we support through their schools, the the treatments they receive in school, are their sole therapies. We aim to make that count!!
