Thank you for supporting the Virgin Islands Children’s Museum At Home Discovery Kit program! Generous GlobalGiving donor support has helped us prepare 600 reading themed discovery kits that are being distributed to youth throughout the territory Summer 2022. Early readers, middle readers, and advanced readers receive reading level/age appropriate books and supplies to keep them engaged and learning during break from school.
The Read to Feed themed At Home Discovery Kit promotes childhood literacy in a way that enhances food security for local families. We are establishing vendor partnerships that will allow kids to take part in a community youth reading program that rewards kids that read with food items from local restaurants, ice cream shops, etcetera.
The Read to Feed Discovery Kit includes a reusable grocery bag or backpack filled with activity books, age appropriate reader books, program information cards, school supplies, and materials for kids to get creative and make their own bookmarks!
The At Home Discovery Kit program is an ongoing GlobalGiving.org fundraising initiative: At Home Discovery Kits for VI Families (47832).
