Dear Valued Donors of our GlobalGiving At Home Discovery Kit campaign,

We are excited to provide you with an update on our recent efforts to distribute our 9th At Home Discovery Kit in the United States Virgin Islands. In June 2024, we successfully built and began distributing 2000 kits throughout the territory, with a focus on human hygiene and hazard preparedness. Over 200 volunteers gave their time and energy to packing discovery kits for kids.

The kits were printed in English, Spanish, and French, and were designed to empower youth to explore the important topics of human hygiene and hazard preparedness from the comfort of their homes. The kits included all the necessary supplies for engaging in hands-on science experiments and learning activities aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Ready.gov family emergency planning guidelines.

While the majority of the kits have been distributed over the summer to summer camps, classrooms, and individual families, we still have some French and Spanish kits remaining to be gifted. These kits provided valuable educational content and resources to those who needed it most, especially in underserved communities where access to educational support is limited. The At Home Discovery Kit program is an ongoing GlobalGiving.org fundraising initiative: At Home Discovery Kits for VI Families (47832)

We are committed to ensuring that every child in the US Virgin Islands has the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their circumstances. Your generous support made it possible for us to reach thousands of families and provide them with the tools and knowledge they needed to stay safe and healthy, particularly during challenging times such as the Atlantic hurricane season. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our mission. Together, we made a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

Sincerely,

The VICM Team
