Bushfires (wildfires) are devastating the continent of Australia, forcing thousands of families to flee their homes. In this devastatingly difficult time, these families need help- and diapers (nappies) are an overlooked yet so desperately needed item. All babies deserve to be clean, dry, and healthy. This fund exists to serve families displaced by bushfire, both in short and long term recovery, by providing complete supplies of cloth nappies to last from birth to potty learning.
Active bushfires have caused mandatory evacuations, destroyed homes, and forced thousands to flee. These families are now staying in shelters, with friends & family, or have fled the area. Living in poverty, now amplified by wildfire devastation, means many families just trying to survive are forced to choose between food & diapers.
Through provision of reusable, modern cloth diapers basic hygiene and dignity will be restored for children and their caregivers.
As our partner organizations in Australia continue to have their personal care needs solved, they are able to save funds and plan for future improvements in their care. This can mean focusing on rebuilding or relocation efforts, giving these families hope and a hand up as they work to find their new normal.
