Every year, hundreds of families in Niger State unknowingly face the threat of human trafficking, putting children and youth at risk of exploitation. This project will reach 200 vulnerable families, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves. Through community workshops, educational materials, and local partnerships, families will learn to identify trafficking tactics, safeguard children, and access critical support.
Human trafficking is a growing crisis in Niger State, fueled by poverty, misinformation, and limited awareness. Families often cannot recognize traffickers' deceptive promises of jobs, education, or migration opportunities. Children and youth are the most vulnerable, while parents lack resources to act proactively. Without timely intervention, traffickers exploit this knowledge gap, perpetuating cycles of abuse, poverty, and family disruption in local communities.
This project delivers a community-driven prevention program for 200 families, combining education, awareness, and support. It includes interactive workshops, culturally tailored educational materials, and training for parents to recognize trafficking risks. Community leaders and volunteers will reinforce messaging and guide families to trusted reporting channels. By empowering households, the program ensures that prevention becomes a shared, practical, and sustainable community effort.
By the end of this project, 200 families will be informed, vigilant, and confident in protecting themselves and their children from traffickers.
