Huascaran Mission benefited 21,000 people in 2025 with 89 vital basic health campaigns in 225 native and remote communities where the Peruvian state and doctors do not reach. We seek support to keep our mobile medical posts operational, which travel on mountainous trails above 3,000 meters in altitude. Fuel, payment to health professionals, treatments, maintenance of the van, and the medical posts themselves are overwhelming us, so we ask for help. We are also starting a telemedicine project.
Despite the generous support of our benefactors with the donation of mobile medical posts, we are facing a new challenge: the costs of logistics to move the mobile posts along mountain trails throughout our intervention area, such as fuel, maintenance of the van, and the medical posts themselves, are overwhelming us. This prevents us from fully fulfilling our promise to provide vital medical care to the rural Andes of Ancash.
We have signed agreements with the local healthcare system authorities making it possible for us to get doctors who work in national hospitals to move in our mobile units and give medical attention where otherwise it would be totally unavailable. This way, we have given more than 21,000 people a year solutions to their medical needs without them having to spend any dollar or move away from home.
By obtaining the necessary support to cover the operating costs of our mobile medical posts, we will be ensuring timely diagnosis. By providing medical care and treatment to pregnant mothers, newborns, children, and the elderly, we are promoting health and well-being inclusively for these vulnerable populations. Additionally, by training and educating these communities on health, hygiene, and nutrition topics, we are laying the foundation for a healthier future.
